We build systems the way we’d want to inherit them
Dotcom was founded in 2008 with a mission to become a reference partner for smart technology implementation and application development across Europe. Since then, we’ve kept seeing the same problem at client after client: software built fast, under pressure, with no plan for what happens in year two. Patched instead of designed. Undocumented. Dependent on whoever wrote it still being around.
We built the company around the opposite instinct: build it modular, document the decisions, and make sure the system outlives the person who built it.
That’s still the standard every project is held to — whether it’s a full custom platform, an embedded engineer inside your team, or a two-week technical audit.
In 2018, Dotcom was recognized by Finance, Slovenia’s leading financial newspaper, with the "Najpodjetniška ideja leta" (Most Entrepreneurial Idea of the Year) award for technological innovation.

Facts
How we work
We size the team to the problem.
Some projects need one senior engineer for three months. Others need a full cross-functional team for a year. We don’t default to the bigger number.
We document architecture decisions, not just code.
Six months after delivery, a new developer — yours or ours — should be able to read why a system was built the way it was, not just what it does. We comment code to a defined internal standard on every project.
We build in modules.
Systems are structured so individual components can be replaced, extended, or maintained independently. This is a technical discipline, not a marketing claim — it shows up in how we scope, estimate, and hand over projects.
We say no when it’s not a fit.
If a project needs a different kind of partner — cheaper, faster, less rigorous, or simply outside what we do well — we’ll say so instead of taking the engagement anyway.

Who we are
Founded in 2008, Dotcom is a team of 25+ specialists based in Ljubljana and Sežana, Slovenia, working with clients across Europe.
Our core engineering expertise includes Java and C#.NET development, React Native mobile development, frontend engineering, data integration, cloud and infrastructure work, and applied AI and automation. We deliver projects using Agile methodology and adapt the stack to the technical and business requirements of each system.
We don’t build the company story around individual personalities. Clients work with a multidisciplinary Dotcom team that combines software engineering, architecture, integration, AI, infrastructure, project delivery, and domain expertise.
Research & innovation
Alongside client work, Dotcom develops and participates in technology and R&D initiatives that combine software engineering with IoT, automation, AI, data, and system integration. Our EU-funded and co-funded projects include IMSE, WTCE, Industrial Spyder, and SmartLogFresh.
